What’s It All About…

Over 3 days, children will be given the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ experience of making a radio podcast of approximately five minutes long.  Children are introduced to the different roles: the Producer (the boss), the Mixing Desk operator, the Presenter and the Researcher/s.  They all have an opportunity to be in those roles and negotiate which one works best for their personalities.   This not only improves their social skills but also their digital literacy and digital citizenship.  They may learn about copyright laws or plagiarisms, security issues, file types, routine computer tasks e.g. file management.  These are very relevant skills for their future and are transferable to their school projects and to life in general.
